The LEO Online Trading Voucher
Many Local Enterprise Offices (LEO) are awarding grants to local businesses in their area that qualify for it. There will be certain criteria that you will have to meet and this will vary according to the LEO you are dealing with. For example, you might have to be in business for a year or be trading online.
Of course Website Design funding, trading online does not mean you must have an online shop. If you offer your customers the option of paying for your services online then you are trading online. When you receive the grant, you can get up to €2500 or up to 50% of the websites total cost, net of cost. Whichever is the lesser.
Enterprise Support Grant
The ESG is only awarded to job seekers that are on the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance (BTWEA) or Short-term Enterprise Allowance. (STEA).
The BTWEA is paid for 2 years and it gives you what you got in social welfare payments. But in the first year, you get all your social welfare payments and in the second year, you get three-quarters of your social welfare payments.
The STEA is only paid for 6 to 9 months and like the BTWEA it pays you the equivalent of your social welfare payments.
How do you apply for the grants?
To apply for the online trading voucher, pop into your LEO. It’s best to make an application to your LEO before any work commences on your website. This is because you are likely to be waiting at least 2 months before your application is looked at. You can select the branch you are looking for by this link.
To apply for the ESG you have to organise a meeting with a case officer in your local Social Welfare office. They will take you through the application process and let you know when you can expect to receive your grant if you are accepted.
It is worth noting that if you apply for the ESG, you can also apply for the LEO Online Trading Voucher.
